HOME WORLD - TAOZEN Eelum are born in the world of Taozen. It is there that they wait until they are summoned for the first time. Taozen is notable for its vast open fields, mountain ranges and forests. It is deep within the mountains that Eelum civilization flourishes. They build their homes high up as a natural defense against any creatures that might bring them harm. They are able to climb the mountains with ease through jumping and climbing and take their descent down through various short flights using their feathers on their arms and legs to glide safely. The fields and forests provide the Eelum with any resources they might need such as food, water and materials for shelter. There is a large lake deep within the heart of Taozen that feeds into the rivers and streams that are scattered across the land.
Once summoned for the first time and a pact is formed, they are able to sustain life in the world they are summoned to until their death. If their master or the bloodline/area they are protecting exist no longer, they are able to return to Taozen until summoned once again or until they live out their life. All Eelum are born good. Corrupted Eelum exist only because of the way they were treated during a former pact.
Eelum are able to communicate with their home world through mediation. They often meditate to rekindle their connection with their roots. Upon meditating they are able to project themselves into Taozen, almost like a ghost, to get a glimpse of whatever it is they need to see. They are only able to use this power to connect through their home world, they cannot use it to wander any other realm, despite how many times they might try.
CULTURE Eelum are noted for their intellect and cunning as well as their strength and ability to use magic. They also have immense drive and seek to accomplish whatever they put mind and heart into. These traits are why many seek to summon an Eelum for a guardian. It is unknown how the first pact was made and why it became a tradition to seek out making one. Some say it is a right of passage while others claim it is to expand their horizons and seek out potential new worlds to live in case if anything were to happen to Taozen. Residents of Taozen are often trustworthy individuals. It is not uncommon to see an Eelum leave their personal belongings out in the open without fear of it being stolen within their village. All Eelum are born naturally good and pure (they aren’t goodie-two-shoes, but they are humble). This is something seen among all children and it isn’t until an Eelum is summoned to a new world that their personality begins to shape accordingly to their new home. Parents will often notice certain traits being displayed by their child early on. They use these subtle hints to help shape their child to be successful when they get older. While many parents are successful in providing their child with the right skills to allow them to succeed as an adult (such as focusing on strength training versus magic use, healing over offensive magic, etc) it can be possible for the child to branch off to a different path. This does put the Eelum at a disadvantage but it is not something that will cost them their life. They will simply have to study and train themselves for whatever it is they wish to learn. This also applies to Eelum that want to grow their skill sets.
Taozen is filled with various villages that help shape the young for the future. Each village is geared towards learning certain aspects or magic. It is not uncommon for an Eelum to move a few times in their life during their years in Taozen. This is why they do not form attachments to where they are. Their attachment is their bonds they hold with individuals.
HEIGHT Eelum range in size. In their normal forms they can be anywhere between 4ft to 6ft tall, give or take a few inches. In their smaller forms, they range from about 1ft to 3ft. This is reflective to how big they normally are. The smaller the Eelum naturally, the smaller their mini form would be. A Eelum that is 6ft would more likely have a mini form ranging anywhere between 2' 5" to about 3'.
DIET Eelum eat a wide range of food with a preference to sweets.
LIFE SPAN Eelum do not die from old age or disease, they will however, die from being physically wounded (ie: stabbed in the heart, suffering multiple fatal wounds, etc). In theory, an Eelum could live forever, however if their pact is not renewed over years they might grow weaker as they lose purpose! This commonly is seen in Eelum that have served a family for multiple generations without any new heir to the family renewing the pact.
